Average men sweat out 1 to 1.5 liters of fluid every day. Add in a daily dose of the gym and that number can sky rocket to more than 3 liters of fluid per hour while working out. Sweating and even excessive sweating while exercising is very common and normal. But, when excessive sweating continues after the workout is finished, there could be a cause for concern.
People have their personal ways of judging other people. One survey asked participants what they thought excessive sweating was a sign of in a person. The results were very interesting. More than 65% of the people believed people who excessively sweat are nervous. Nearly 50% believed the person to be overweight and one quarter of the people believed the over sweater was simply unhealthy.
Fighting the Excessive Sweat
The first line of defense is knowledge. When do you most commonly over sweat? If the sweating is linked with a particular event, the problem could be mental. Stress and anxiety can lead to the body engaging in the fight or flight mentality. This mentality tells the body to reserve fuel and prepare for the fight ahead. Excessive sweating will result from the increased heart rate associated with expectation and stress. More simply put, the body will sweat excessively when it is nervous.
If the excessive sweating is not associated with a mental stressor, diet and exercise may need to be changed to naturally increase overall body health. Other natural methods of fighting excessive sweating include the use of a strong antiperspirant, Liposuction of the sweat glands from the affected area or Botox injections to stop the sweat glands from triggering excessive sweat.
All over body sweating and excessively sweating that is constant could mean an underlying condition is causing the sweating. Seeking medical attention could mean stopping the excessive sweating with ease by simply changing a prescription medication or adding a new medication as the doctor sees fit.
