I bought this electric shaver in the hopes of retiring my blades, and I’m happy to report that I have. I’ve only owned a few other electric shavers in the past, mostly fairly cheap ones, and this shaver is far better. It may not shave as close as a blade for some people’s tastes, but in my opinion it seems to do just as well.
The included self cleaner is nice, since I always hated the chore of cleaning an electric shaver. The cleaner does a nice job and leaves the shaver smelling nice.
I use this shaver not just on my face, but to shave body hair as well, and it performs well in this capacity too. So far, I haven’t needed to use a blade their either, though it takes a bit of time to getting accustomed in how to hold it to get the closest shave.
Overall, I give this an easy 5 stars since it performs just as advertised.

Expensive razor, but well worth the price. The Braun series 7 is especially effective in the hard to shave areas- around the neck and under the chin. Of course the expense will be on-going with the necessary purchase of the proprietary refill cleaning cartridges which if used to clean the razor everyday, last a month. I suggest cleaning after two days of use and thus doubling the cartridge time. The noise of the cleaning doesn’t bother me counter to what others have written. The trimmer is a very nice effective addition.
